“In the face of the opportunities and challenges brought by economic globalization, the right choice is to insist on tearing down walls instead of building them, opening up instead of isolating, integrating instead of decoupling, resolutely safeguarding the multilateral trading system, and guiding the direction of economic globalization.” Ren Hongbin, President of CCPIT, said on September 10 at the 2024 WTO Public Forum Symposium on “Building a Greener and More Resilient Supply Chain”.The WTO Public Forum is the most important annual outreach activity of the WTO, aiming to provide a platform for representatives from governments, enterprises, academia, media, parliaments, international organizations and other sectors to exchange views and discuss the latest developments in world trade and proposals to strengthen the multilateral trading system. This year, the Forum was held in Geneva, Switzerland, under the theme “Re-globalization: Better Trade for a Better World”. At the invitation of WTO Director-General Okonjo-Iweala, CCPIT and the International Trade Center (ITC) jointly organized a seminar on the theme of “Building a Greener and More Resilient Supply Chain” during the WTO Public Forum, which conveyed the message that China is practicing genuine multilateralism, unswervingly pushing forward high-level opening-up, and safeguarding the stability of the global supply chain. China's proposition of practicing true multilateralism, unswervingly promoting high-level opening-up to the outside world, and maintaining the stability and smooth flow of the global industrial chain supply chain.Ren Hongbin said, the current economic globalization opportunities and challenges co-exist, we should uphold an open and inclusive mentality, and practice true multilateralism. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has made a systematic deployment to further deepen the reform in a comprehensive manner and push forward the Chinese-style modernization, and China's rapid development will surely provide new opportunities and inject new kinetic energy for the growth of world trade and investment. Building a green and resilient supply chain is an important way to cope with global challenges, and CCPIT is actively building a platform for international cooperation in the supply chain.“China's position in the supply chain is very important. China recently hosted the summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), where many African heads of state mentioned strengthening economic and trade cooperation with China, reflecting that China's active maintenance of the global industrial chain supply chain stability and smooth flow as recognized by African leaders.” Teng Bo, Deputy Executive Director of the International Trade Center, said in an interview with the media during the seminar.In order to maintain the stability and smooth flow of the global industrial chain supply chain, CCPIT organized the first China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (hereinafter referred to as the “Chain Expo”) in Beijing at the end of last year, which is the world's first supply chain-themed national-level exhibition. The holding of CSCF responded to the expectations of all parties for the maintenance of the global industrial chain and supply chain, and received a wide response from international organizations. Five international organizations, including UNCTAD, UNIDO, WIPO, ITC and ICC, have become the supporting units of the first Chain Expo. At present, these five international organizations have confirmed that they will continue to be the supporting units of the second Chain Expo.Since this year, CCPIT has been strengthening its communication and exchange with international organizations, focusing on strengthening the cooperative relationship with the World Trade Organization, International Trade Center, World Economic Forum, International Road Transport Union, International Organization for Standardization, International Exhibition Bureau, International Chamber of Commerce, International Association of the Exhibition Industry and other international organizations. The international organizations all hope that China will continue to play an important role in influencing and make China's voice louder in support of the development of multilateral institutions, and promote the resolution of the current difficulties and challenges hindering the development of the global economy, and they all hope to make use of the platform of the Chain Expo to deepen exchanges and cooperation among the global industrial and commercial sectors, promote the recovery of global trade, and boost the growth of the world economy.“From November 26 to 30 this year, we will hold the second Chain Expo in Beijing, and we hereby invite all guests to actively participate in it.” Ren Hongbin said that as China's largest trade and investment promotion organization, CCPIT is willing to work with all parties to promote international economic and trade cooperation, actively participate in global economic governance, build the global supply chain to be more resilient, efficient and vibrant, and make a greater contribution to promoting the recovery of the world economy.Representatives of international organizations such as Toben Fredrickson, Head of E-Commerce and Digital Economy of UNCTAD's Division on Technology and Logistics, Zhao Haiying, Deputy General Manager of CIC, Xiao Ming, Senior Vice President of ZTE, Yu Bo, Deputy Secretary of China Datang Group, Zhao Xudunlong, Vice President of China Railway Construction, Wang Jun, Chief Scientist of China Railway, Wang Shutong, Chairman of Dunhuang.com Group, Jin Lei, Chairman of Beijing Bairen Healthcare, Ma Hongyan, Vice President of International Marketing of Kaiwu New Energy Automobile Group, and Ma Hongyan, Vice President of International Marketing of Kaiwu New Energy Automobile Group.
