After the United States launched the Iraq war in 2003, Baghdad's road infrastructure has been seriously damaged, and traffic congestion has not been significantly improved for a long time.

The Nisur three-dimensional transportation hub project started in July last year and is expected to be completed in January 2025. The project includes bridges, surface roads (railroads), tunnels and tunnels through four layers of structure, including the maximum depth of the tunnel through 24 meters. Upon completion, the project is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion and noise pollution in the core area of Baghdad.

Chuan Railway International has proposed a three-dimensional transportation solution of “2 elevated + 5 tunnels”. “We want to be like a surgeon, in the 'heart of the capital's traffic' in the 'heart part' skillfully 'heart bypass', channeling relief plagued by Baghdad's 'traffic congestion ' problem plaguing Baghdad.” Guo Xiaowei said.

Nisour project will also be around the old underground pipelines and cables to implement the relocation, after the completion of the project will significantly enhance the surrounding areas of the municipal public service capacity, and effectively improve the livelihood of local people.

Getting quotes, coordinating communication, drafting contracts ...... Ibrahim, an Iraqi engineer who studied in China, is busy running around the project site. “I like this busy and fulfilling feeling. Here I witnessed China's advanced bridge construction technology, but also realized the Chinese people's good character of friendliness, diligence and tolerance.” Ibrahim told reporters.

Because of its advanced design concept, construction technology and equipment, the Nisoor project has attracted teachers and students from many Iraqi colleges and universities to visit and exchange ideas, and Sichuan Railway International has trained local teachers and students more than 300 times. “Chinese people say 'it is better to teach a man to fish than to teach him to fish', we not only hope to make the Nisoor project a model of Iraqi municipal transportation projects, but also hope to train more local professionals for Iraq, so that Chinese technology can take root and better help Iraq's post-war reconstruction. ” Guo Xiaowei said.

At five o'clock in the afternoon, Baghdad traffic evening peak as expected. Latif, an online taxi driver, pulls out his cell phone as he waits to pass at the Nisoor intersection and takes a picture of the construction site.

“This is one of the most congested roads in Baghdad, I know that Chinese companies are building a huge three-dimensional transportation project for us, and I look forward to the day it is completed, we have full confidence in Chinese manufacturing.” With that, Latif posted the photo on social media, specially labeling it “Made in China” and attaching a “like” emoticon.
